Review by hotel critic
Nestled in the picturesque town of Simsbury, the Simsbury Inn combines vintage charm with modern conveniences, making it a delightful spot for both family trips and business stays. I appreciate the hotel's outstanding location—just ten miles from downtown Hartford, yet surrounded by the serene beauty of Farmington Valley. During my latest stay, I relished the spacious room adorned with traditional furnishings and a luxurious king-size four-poster bed, perfect for a restful night after a day exploring local attractions like the Hill-Stead Museum and the New England Air Museum. The hotel offers three dining options, ensuring that even my daughters were satisfied after our hiking adventures. I experienced disturbances during my visits due to loud housekeepers and unexpected knocks on my door, indicating a needed improvement in guest privacy protocols. Despite this, the warm, welcoming ambiance and exquisite dining make the Simsbury Inn worth returning to. Just a couple of thoughtful adjustments could elevate this lovely inn into an exceptional experience—perhaps they could invest in some Do Not Disturb signs!
